Pelvic floor & Pediatric physiotherapy

Restoring comfort and confidence

Discreet, respectful pelvic floor care — during pregnancy, after birth, through menopause — and gentle physiotherapy for little ones. You set the pace; we follow it.

You are not alone

Common does not mean normal

Leaking after childbirth, pain during sex, pelvic heaviness, lower abdominal pain — these are among the most common reasons people come to see us. Many wait years before mentioning them, often because someone told them it was "just what happens after a baby." It is not something you have to live with.

  • You do not need to justify or downplay your symptoms.
  • Nothing you describe will surprise or embarrass us.
  • It is never "too late" — we see people from a few weeks to many years after giving birth.

Who you will see

One physiotherapist, from start to finish

You see the same professional at every session. You will never have to tell your story over again from the beginning.

Mom of two little treasures

As a physiotherapist since 2018, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of people in hospital settings, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and pediatric physiotherapy. These experiences have shaped the way I practise today: with a rigorous clinical approach that always remains centred on the person.

I deeply believe that good care begins with a relationship built on trust. My approach is gentle, compassionate, and free of judgement, with a strong emphasis on listening, education, and respecting each person’s individual pace. As a mother of two young children, I also have a firsthand understanding of many of the everyday challenges women and parents face: fatigue, a changing body, worries, and sometimes the feeling of having to hold everything together at once.

Assessing and treating effectively is important, of course — but above all, I believe in taking the time to listen, to explain, and to support each person with care and humanity.

Your first visit

Exactly what will happen, step by step

Feeling nervous before a first pelvic floor appointment is completely normal. Here is how the hour unfolds, so that nothing takes you by surprise.

  1. 1

    We talk, fully clothed

The session starts with a conversation — seated, fully dressed, behind a closed door. We go through your symptoms, your medical and birth history, your daily habits and, above all, what you want to get back to. This often takes up half the appointment.

  2. 2

    Everything is explained first

Before any examination, your physiotherapist describes what she would like to assess, why it matters in your case, how she will proceed and what you will feel. Ask anything. If you would rather postpone the exam to a later session, that is a perfectly reasonable choice.

  3. 3

The assessment, with your agreement at every step

The assessment may include looking at your posture, breathing and abdominal wall, and then — only if you consent — a pelvic floor examination. You are draped with a sheet, alone in the room with your physiotherapist, and you can ask to pause or stop at any moment without explaining yourself.

  4. 4

    The plan, decided together

You leave with a clear picture of what is going on, realistic goals, an idea of how many sessions may be needed and a few exercises for home. The plan is yours: it adapts to what is actually workable in your life.

For parents

When your child is the patient

Pediatric sessions happen through play, at the child’s level, without force and without pain. Part of our job is to equip you too.

  • A calm, safe space

A closed, quiet room with no rush, where your child can take the time to get comfortable with the physiotherapist and the equipment before anything starts.

  • We move at the child’s pace

Depending on their age, we explain what is about to happen and ask if it is okay. With a baby or toddler, we read their cues — crying, tensing, gaze — and adjust: nothing is forced, and we take the time it takes.

  • You leave with practical tools

Exercises that fit into daily life, positioning advice, developmental milestones and a clear summary of what we observed.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often

Not finding your answer? Call us — no question is too awkward to ask.

Do I need a medical prescription?

No. In Quebec, you can see a physiotherapist directly, without a medical referral. Some private insurers do require a prescription for reimbursement, so it is worth checking with yours before your first session.

Is an internal exam mandatory?

Never. It is the most precise way to assess the pelvic floor, but it is always offered, never imposed. You can decline it at the first visit, postpone it, or never consent to it — your treatment continues with external approaches.

Does it hurt?

The assessment should not be painful. Some techniques on sensitive or scarred tissue can be uncomfortable; we warn you beforehand and adjust immediately when you tell us. Pain is not a necessary part of treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends entirely on your situation. Many common problems improve substantially within a handful of sessions spread over a few months, with home exercises in between. After the assessment you will get an honest estimate — including if physiotherapy is not the right answer for you.

Can I come during my period?

Yes — it is not a contraindication and it does not bother us. If you would rather reschedule, or have a session without an internal exam that day, just say so when booking or when you arrive.

How soon after giving birth can I come?

A first assessment is usually possible around six weeks postpartum. If you are in significant pain before then, call us — some gentle work is possible earlier. And if you gave birth years ago, it is absolutely not too late.

Can I bring my baby or my children?

Yes. Babies and young children are welcome in the room during your session. A lack of childcare should never be the reason you put off taking care of yourself.

Is this covered by RAMQ?

Physiotherapy in a private clinic is not covered by RAMQ. It is, however, reimbursed in full or in part by most group and private insurance plans. You receive an official receipt after every session for your claim.

Can I be seen in English?

Yes. Sessions are held in French or English, whichever you prefer. Just mention it when you book.
